Instructions

Make the dough

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together warm water and instant yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes. Add milk, eggs, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Whisk until well combined.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Pour in the wet mixture and mix until dough forms.

  3. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

First rise

  1. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Shape the rolls

  1. Transfer dough to a floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a rectangle (about 10 x 14 inches). 

  1. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly. Starting from the long side, roll the dough up tightly into a log and cut into rolls.

Second rise

  1. Line a baking pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup and nonstick baking. Place rolls in the pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.

Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

Make frosting

  1. In medium bowl, use a handheld mixer or stand mixer to combine the cream cheese and softened butter until smooth. Mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Spread the frosting over warm rolls. Enjoy.
