  1. Pack the cucumbers, dill, and peppercorns into a jar. Layer the dill between the cucumbers if possible.

  1. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until salt and sugar dissolve. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
